Resolution to Fail

New Year, a time to remake ourselves. Making resolutions to exercise, diet, run a marathon, save…the list is a mirror of our dis-satisfaction with ourselves.
Already on day three many have broken their resolution. They are planning for next year.
No I don’t make resolutions. I don’t need to plan to fail, it comes naturally to me.
Today the Supreme Court hears arguments on whether school officials may may strip-search a student based on the suspicion that the student may have drugs in their possession.
I don’t care what kind of evidence they may have, if they determine that a student needs to searched they should contact the parents and the police. It’s humiliating for a person of 13 to be searched in such a manner by people that they come into contact with each day.
I hope that the court rules against the school on this.
